i think the reason is becuz your avatar is not an animation...

an animation will most likely be in .gif format but your avatar is in .jpg which is a picture instead of an animation

erm, i think its an animation cause it works when i view in windows media fax viewer or adobe photostarter and a lot of places when i view it. :)
